DA Calculation Sheet: The DA for Central Government Employees was earlier calculated based on the consumer price index with the base year 2001. The Central Government replaced it with a new consumer price index with the base year 2016 to calculate the DA from September 2020.

It will be very disappointing, if DA increases by only 7 %. Keeping in the view of the current price hikes in petrol and vegetables, it is very much essential that a minimum of 10 % rise is necessary. Let’s see what will be the GOVT’s decison on it.
The DA increase is going to affect the allowances for sure …… But can any one tell me that will there be any consideration to increase the HRA…….
Food inflation soars to 17.05 per cent for the week ended 22nd January, 2011 from 15.57% in the previous week driven by higher cost of vegetables, food items etc. Considering all aspects of escalation of price rise, the GOI must think of realistic enhancement of atleast 9-10% of D.A. hike from 1-1-2011
Sir,
I think the statistics has been manipulated
to such an extent that DA percentage has been shown
less than expected. It is to be represented before
the finance ministry. Let us wait official announcement.
D.A. From January 2011 will be 6% and next D.A. From July 2011 will be minimum 7% and it will be between 8% to 11%..
Since the Increase in index is only marginally less than52%(51.97),The govt should round off & accept DA increase of 7%.
HNN
D.A. GROWTH IS LIKELY 6% W.E.F. 01/01/11. IT IS BELOW TO THE EXPECTATIONS AND AS PER PRICE HIKE.
this is very bad for central goverment employee only 6% DA but i think so DA near about 8% to 10% because infalation is very high but must be now 10%.
Thanks for updating D.A. calculation promptly. Let us wait for GOI decision by March, 2011
Our expectation for the da was about 10% . But as per the calculation it is only 6% not satisfactory. But thanks it is crossing 50% & our allowances will be increased by 25%
You are doing a wonderful job. Kindly continue it.D A is likely to be increased by 7%.Though it is not sufficient compare to regular increasing prices of all essential commodities.
D.A. from Jan. 2011 will be 6% and next D.A. from July will be bitween 8% to 11%..
DA will be 7% from Jan 2011
cpi for month of dec. 2010 is declared as 185 as compared to 182 for nov.2010. so now da is likly to be increased around 6 to 8%
The serving employees will be getting 50% of D.A. increase in their Pension, DCRG & commutation besides HRA, CCA etc. when they retire from service. Hence it is appropriate to increase 0.25% increase in basic Pension to Pensioners whenever enhanced Dearness Relief is announced as they are not getting any HRA/CCA as done in developed countries
according to my calculations based on assumptions da for january 2011 would be 6%. once da crosses 50% if 25 % increase will be implemented in case of allowances
will there be any iincrease in pensioners’ emoluments to justfy their expectations
Inspite of raising da govt should controlnflation rate to meet the needs of unemployed people
according to the price hikes and hidden inflation like labour charges da should minimumbe raised 10% to meet the both ends of life
According to the price hike differnt commodities i.e. Onion ,petrol etc .it should defintely to increase D.A. @ 10%
According to price hike of essential commodities DA should definitely be increased by 8% w.e.f. 01-01-2011
