Subject: Travelling Allowance Rules – Implementation of the Sixth Central Pay Commission.

The undersigned is directed to invite a reference to this Ministry’s OM of even number dated 23.9.2008 vide which revised TA/DA Rules as per recommendations of 6th CPC, as accepted by the Government, were notified. Para 3 of the Annexure to the above mentioned OM prescribes the entitlements with regard to hotel accommodation, taxi charges and reimbursement of food bills in respect of government officials on tour.

2. The matter regarding availability of suitable hotel accommodation etc. within the rates approved vide the O.M. to Government officials while on tour has been taken up by the Ministry of Tourism with various State Governments and also with ITDC. Some of the State Tourism Departments and the ITDC have responded to the initiative. The rates offered by various State Tourism Departments and ITDC to the Government officials while on tour can be accessed on the website of respective State Tourism departments. The Ministry of Tourism is also being requested to collate the information centrally and post it on their website for convenience of government officials.

3. Government Officials may, if they so desire, avail of their rates offered by State Tourism Departments and ITDC while on official tour depending on their entitlement.as per OM dt. 23.9.2008

  1. is it compulsurey to submeet printed or registred food bill .if it is not availableat any place can we take bill own duty station or acertificate on ablankpaper with shopkeeper stamp.

  2. I am central govt. employee (MHA) ,I was detailed for temporary duty and at night I stayed at Line Hotel (Dhaba) and I received their bill, can I claim the bill along with TA/DA

  3. i was on leave from 24/10/2013 to 29/11/2013. i joined my duty on 02/12/2013 as 30/11/2013 and 01/12/2013 being Saturday and Sunday. whether i am eligible to get Transport Allowance or not

  4. I am working as Extn. Inspector having Grade Pay of Rs.4600/- I have to go on tour in remote places of NE states where getting printed lodging/fooding bills is not available.Further,in the absence of public transport system, I have to visit villages by hired auto/ hired motorcycle as a pillion rider spending Rs.250/- per day without voucher. Please help me as to how I cam claim lodging /fooding and local conveyance without printed bills.

  5. i am field officer having grade pay of 5400,almost i go on tour 20days, romote and remotest places where one unable find out hotels with proper printing manner bills,especially food bills of 250/- per day,in this connection how to claim the food bill? please help me.
    one more practical problem is while visiting villages where even auto are not flying, some one supposed to go by other means of transport, in those conditions how to claim road milleage Rs.150/- per day,is it compulsory to take signature from the aurto rickhawala? help us

  7. Government in their OM dt23rd Sept.2008, stated that officials shall not travel by private transoport agencies where the places are connected by Public transport. This is to ensure that thebenefits out of official travel, which funded by Government, should accrue to Government. As per new entitlement most of the official;s are travelling by Private taxis and claim is restricted to eligible class. Thus the above purpose is not erved. Comments on this aspect may be offered

  8. is submission of bill compulsory for claiming of reibursement of hotel bill on tour by a Central Government employee?
