Leave Rules – Paternity leave
FR & SR Part III
Eligibility – A male Government servant (including an apprentice) with less than two surviving children, may be granted Paternity Leave – Rule 43-A
Duration : 15 days, during the confinement of his wife for childbirth, i.e., up to 15 days before, or up to six months from the date of delivery of the child.  – Rule 43-A
Leave Salary : During such period of 15 days, he shall be paid leave salary equal to the pay drawn immediately before proceeding on leave
The paternity Leave may be combined with leave of any other kind. Â The paternity leave shall not be debited against the leave account.
If Paternity Leave is not availed of within the period,, it should be treated as lapsed.- Rule 43-A
The Paternity Leave shall not normally be refused under any circumstances. – Rule Note 43-A
My baby date of birth is 27/12/2014 and I have joined central government service on 22/12/2014. Am I eligible for paternity leave?

Hi i am central govt. employee , i have applied for paternity since baby was born but still my leave was not sanctioned saying staff shortage, it is going to be in more 18 days what to do ?
I am a Central Govt. employee. Pl. convey me that, in case of Leproscopy or Histroctomy operation (i.e. Uterus Removel operation)of wife on Single children is there any provision of getting special leave to the male Central govt. servant for that period.

i have availed paternity leave for two times but my first child was expired with in 06 months from her birth. now i am having only one child. Can I am entitle for paternity leave for my coming second child
Defence personnel are allowed or not, paternity leave. If no why he has not allowed.

Dear Sir/Madam,
My child was born on 02nd March 2017 and I joined Indian Railways on 06th April 2017. Now I have applied paternity leave and the administration is denying the same stating that I was not in service at the time of child birth. From the reply from Helper to Shivam on September 16, 2013 at 5:00 AM, I understood that I would be eligible for paternity leave. Request you to provide the relevant references/orders so that I can take it up with my administration. Please help me Sir/Madam.

Did you get any references as i am having the same trouble. Department is refusing my paternity leave as even i have joined after birth of my child.
