OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject- Grant of Child Care Leave to women Government employees – Clarification – Regarding.

The undersigned is directed to refer to para 1(c) of this Department’s O.M. of even number dated 11th September, 2008 according to which Child Care Leave can be granted to women employees having minor children below the age of 18 years, for a maximum period of 2 years (i.e. 730 days) during their entire service, for taking care of upto two children whether for rearing or to look after any of their needs like examination, sickness etc. The question as to whether child care leave would be admissible for the third child below the age of 18 years and the procedure for grant of child care leave have been under consideration in this Department, and it has now been decided as follows:

  • (i) Child Care Leave shall be admissible for two eldest surviving children only.
  • (ii) The leave account for child care leave shall be maintained in the pro forma enclosed, and it shall be kept alongwith the Service Book of the Government servant concerned.

    my wife is working for central govt PSU (NTC Ltd), that psu not introduced CCL till now,
    and I am working for State govt. of Karnataka instead of her shall i get CCL from Karnataka Government.

    I’m a Asst Teacher in govt school
    I am on child care leave from 28_may_15 To 31_DEC_2015.
    During the above CC Leave period I got mutual transfer from Bijapur to Belgaum rural govt school.
    I joined the Belgaum school on 29_sep_2015

    My child is suffering from Cerebral palsy (CP) and he is under treatment
    Doctor has prescribed daily physiotherapy

    As I have given submitted my child care leave request along with all the needed documents on 26_Oct_2015 here at Belgaum BEO office rural.

    Still they have not sanctioning the child care leave simply wasting the time by giving silly reasons

    As I’m attending the school along with child so I’m not able to go for physiotherapy…

    What shall I have to do to get Child care leave
    As I have the child care leave sanctioned letter from Bijapur BEO off and the leave period is also mentioned in my SR book stating that I’m on leave from 28/may/2015 to 31/DEC/2015 even though they are delaying to give CCL continuation letter.

    Pls tell what step I have to take or to whom I have to complain regarding the CCL

  8. My wife is a govt asst teacher (TGT) Belgaum rural.
    By mutual transfer we came from bijapur to Belgaum (within unit )
    My wife is on child care leave from 28_05_2015 To 31_12_2015
    She joined the school after mutual transfer from Bijapur to Belgaum on 29_Aug_2015
    Will the child care leave continue till 31_12_15
    OR
    We shall apply for ccl again ?
    And also give me the details in such a situation of mutual transfer

    In BEO office of Belgaum they not sanctioning the leave simply wasting the time
    Where as my child is under treatment of physiotherapy
    My wife is not able to go for physiotherapy as she is going to school with child who is a patient of cerebral palsy.

    Kindly reply how to avail the CCL

  9. I m a contractual staff in Rajasthan medical health department, I got 6 months maternity leave, BT I want child care leave also! Is it possible?
