Govt hikes dearness allowance to 80%

The Union Cabinet today gave its approval to release an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners with effect from 01.01.2013 at the rate of 8 percent over the existing rate of 72 percent.

Thus, the combined impact on the exchequer on account of both DA and DR would be of the order of Rs.8629.20 crore per annum and Rs. 10067.36 crore in the financial year 2013-14 (that is for a period of 14 months from January, 2013 to February, 2014).

  1. I have been deputed(Temporary Transfer)to Mysore from Bangalore(HQ) for a period of 5 months. i have been paid TA at the Mysore rate for the entire 5 months period. When I claimed DA(Daily Allowance)for the period of deputation, Daily Allowance at the rate of Rs.105/- has been granted but, at the same time TA drawn with Pay and Allowances for the entire period of stay at Mysore drawn at Mysore rate was deducted as AOR from P and A. Am I not eligible for TA at the rate payable at the office of deputation during the period of deputation if Daily Allowance is paid for the number of days worked. Please any of you can clarify.
