  2. Sir,
I am a retired railway employee and my is serving Central Govt. employee. Railway employees gets railway passes during service and after retirement for self and family (Wife), and according to rules if either of the spouce is getting any travel concession the other govt employee will not get LTC. Since I am getting Railway free passes my wife do not get LTC. Now the question is as per6th Pay Commission’s recommendations one can have 10 days leave encashment, and for that one has to take leave and authority for travel. Since I being railway employee got the railway pass for self and wife and travelled on it and my wife applied for leave encashment showing the authority of travel i.e.free pass. her office has raised an objection that since the spouce(Husband) is retired, wife is not entitled for leave encashment. Office is asking for relevant rules for that. Kindly clarify and quote the rules.

    Thanks and regards.
