CGDA Travel Advisory due to sudden outbreak of Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

Subject : Travel Advisory.

Due to sudden outbreak of Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in the country, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued a Consolidated Travel Advisory in the matter. In addition to Visa restrictions and other guidelines, the said Advisory states that passengers traveling from/ having visited various countries and desirous of entering India will need certificate of having tested negative for COVID-19 from any of the designated laboratories authorized by the health authorities of these countries. This is in enforcement since 0000 hrs. of 10th March 2020 and a temporary measure till cases of COVID-19 subside. Further, all international passengers entering India are required to furnish duly filled self-declaration form in duplicate (including personal particulars i.e. phone no. and address in India (as annexed) to Health Officials and Immigration officials and undergo Universal Health Screening at the designated health counters at all Points of Entry.

2. Further, Group of Ministers under the chairmanship of Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare has also taken a decision in the matter on 11th March 2020, whereby Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid all non-essential travel abroad. On their return, they are required to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days on their arrival in India.

3. Accordingly, the undersigned has been directed to forward a copy of the above advisory/guidelines with an advice that all officers/ staff are required to strictly follow the aforesaid guidelines issued by Government of India.

4. In view of the above, necessary action may please be taken on urgent basis.
