Eligibility – A male Government servant (including an apprentice) with less than two surviving children, may be granted Paternity Leave – Rule 43-A

Duration : 15 days, during the confinement of his wife for childbirth, i.e., up to 15 days before, or up to six months from the date of delivery of the child.  – Rule 43-A

Leave Salary : During such period of 15 days, he shall be paid leave salary equal to the pay drawn immediately before proceeding on leave

The paternity Leave may be combined with leave of any other kind.  The paternity leave shall not be debited against the leave account.

If Paternity Leave is not availed of within the period,, it should be treated as lapsed.- Rule 43-A

The Paternity Leave shall not normally be refused under any circumstances.  – Rule Note 43-A

  1. I had availed 15 days paternity leave on the birth of my first child. Am I eligible for 15 days paternity leave on the birth of my second child. I am working in nvs.

  2. I m a railway employee.after i joining railway i got second baby and i applied PL for 15 days but that baby was died
    Now i am eligible for PL or what plz reply.

  3. its a case of intrauterine death my child is dead in eigth month of pregnancy, and the child has been taken out from normal delivery am i eligible for 15 days paternity leave,
